Emma Raducanu Withdraws from Hong Kong Open Due to Injury

Emma Raducanu, the 21-year-old former US Open champion, withdraws from the Hong Kong Open citing insufficient match fitness. Her injured foot is healing, but she requires more recovery time before returning to competitive play.

Former US Open champion Emma Raducanu, 21, has withdrawn from the upcoming Hong Kong Open due to insufficient match fitness. The world number 55 announced on X that although her injured foot is getting better, she requires more recovery time before returning to play.

Raducanu has not competed since she retired from her Korea Open quarter-final against Daria Kasatkina last month, where she sustained sprained ligaments in her foot. This represents her fifth tournament withdrawal since the injury, but she is targeting readiness for Great Britain’s Billie Jean King Cup Finals match against Germany on November 15.
